Privacy Policy


Arc Brief (arcbrief.news) is an APAC technology publication. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site, how we use it, and what choices you have.

1. Information we collect

We do not require you to create an account or provide personal information to read Arc Brief.

We collect the following data automatically when you visit:

  • Pages visited, time on site, and navigation patterns
  • Browser type, operating system, and device type
  • Approximate geographic location (country / city level, derived from IP address)
  • Referral source (how you arrived at the site)

If you subscribe to the Arc Brief newsletter, we collect your email address. This is handled by Beehiiv, a third-party newsletter platform. See their privacy policy at beehiiv.com/privacy.

2. How we use this information

  • To understand how readers use the site and improve content and navigation
  • To measure the reach and performance of individual articles and editorials
  • To send the Arc Brief newsletter to subscribers (email only, no other use)
  • To display relevant advertisements through Google AdSense

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties except as described below.

3. Cookies and analytics

Arc Brief uses Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymous usage data. Google Analytics places cookies on your device to distinguish visitors and track sessions. The data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Arc Brief displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at google.com/settings/ads or visit aboutads.info to opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies.

Arc Brief does not control the content of advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google’s use of advertising cookies is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.

Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default. Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. We do not store any other personal data on Arc Brief’s own servers.

You have the right to:

  • Opt out of analytics tracking (see Section 3)
  • Opt out of personalised advertising (see Section 4)
  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email
  • Request deletion of any personal data we hold about you

Arc Brief is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
